Rotary Club of Angel Fire Earns Top Awards

At the Rotary District 5520 Conference the Rotary Club of Angel Fire won two prestigious awards. This year’s conference held April 28 through May 1, 2016, at the Hotel Albuquerque, was attended by Rotarians from 69 clubs located throughout New Mexico and southwest Texas. The club was recognized as the “Best Medium Sized Rotary Club” in District 5520. In addition to this award, the club also qualified as one of eight rotary clubs in the district for the Gold Presidential Citation given by K. R. Ravindran, President of Rotary International from Sri Lanka.

With nine people out of a club of 24 members attending the conference, the club won the award for the highest percentage of people at the conference. The club nominated Hail’s Holy Smoked BBQ & More of Angel Fire, which won the “Sonny Brown Award” for best non-Rotarian owned small business in District 5520. The businesses were judged on community service and support, quality of products, customer service, and involvement in community organizations.
